THE FIRST WORKSHOP ORGANISED WITHIN THE SCOPE OF ACTIVITY 1.12

Within the scope of the Technical Assistance Project on Preparation of River Basin Management Plans for 6 Basins, under the IPA-2 period of the European Union Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, the first workshop was held in Bolu Gazelle Hotel between 30 June - 2 July 2022 as part of the Activity 1.12 Establishing training workshops on characterisation issues. A total of 57 participants attended the meeting including the Director General for Water Management Mr. Bilal DİKMEN, Deputy Director General for Water Management Dr. Yakup KARAASLAN, Head of the Basin Management Department, Mr. Taner KİMENÇE, representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, DG of EU and Foreign Relations Ms. Nurnisa ELÇİN and Ms. Meltem YILMAZ, representatives of the Directorate General for Water Management, managers of the contractor and technical assistance team. 

The meeting started with the opening speech of Mr. Bilal DİKMEN, Director General for Water Management. 

During the three-day workshop, the Consortium experts delivered their presentations on the methodologies to be followed for the characterisation reports.

Mr. Volkan KEPOĞLU and Mr. Jarno TURUNEN: Case Studies for HMWBs (including delineation of water bodies for a river, a lake, designation test, mitigation and restoration measures, determination of MEPs and GEPs)    

Ms. Oytun ARIKAN and Mr. Giorgos BARMPOUTIS: Pressure-Impact-Risk Analysis Methodology, Load Calculation Methodology (including cumulative impacts)  

Mr. Mert SEVİNIR and Ms. Oytun ARIKAN: Risk Assessment 

Ms. Aysun AKTAŞ: Protected Areas 

Asst. Prof. Belgi TURAN: Economic Analysis of Water Use and Population Projection Studies     

Dr. Burak TURAN and Mr. Memduh ARDIÇ: Impacts of drought and climate change and water budget
