PUBLIC PARTICIPATION MEETING ON KIZILIRMAK BASIN - SIGNIFICANT WATER MANAGEMENT ISSUES ORGANIZED

Within the scope of the 'Technical Assistance on Preparation of River Basin Management Plans for 6 Basins' project co-financed by the European Union and Türkiye within the scope of the IPA-2 period of the European Union Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, Activity 2.2 - Kızılırmak Basin Public Participation Meeting on Significant Water Management Issues was held on 28 July 2023 at Samsun Anemon Hotel. 70 people attended the meeting, including the Governor of Samsun Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zülkif DAĞLI, Director General of Water Management Ms Afire SEVER, representatives of General Directorate of Water Management, representatives of stakeholder institutions and organizations in the basin, managers of the Consortium and technical assistance team. 

Before the Public Participation Meeting on Significant Water Management Issues, a meeting of the Kızılırmak Basin Management Committee was held with the participation of the Governor of Samsun Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zülkif DAĞLI, Director General of Water Management Ms Afire SEVER, and representatives of responsible institutions and organizations in the basin. 

The Public Participation meeting continued with presentations by Acting Team Leader Ms Sara PELEGRIN MC CARTHY,  and Kızılırmak Basin Responsible Dr Emre KÖKEN. The current status of the project, Water Framework Directive requirements, Kızılırmak Basin Characterization Report and significant water management issues in the basin were shared with the participants and ideas were exchanged. The Public Participation Meeting on Significant Water Management Issues in the Kızılırmak  Basin ended after the views and comments of the participants were received.
