3RD OPERATION COORDINATION UNIT MEETING WAS HELD

3rd Operation Coordination Unit Meeting of the Technical Assistance Project on Preparation of River Basin Management Plans for Six Basins, co-financed by the European Union and Türkiye within the scope of the IPA-2 period of the European Union Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, was held on 21 April 2022 at Directorate General for Water Management and through Zoom in a hybrid format. 

51 participants attended the meeting including the Deputy Director General for Water Management Dr. Yakup KARAASLAN, Head of Department Taner KİMENÇE, Mr. Efe PARLAK and Ms. Nurnisa ELÇİN, representing the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, Directorate General for EU & Foreign Relations, Department of EU Investments, representatives of Directorate General for Water Management, directors and experts of the Contractor company and technical assistance team.

The meeting started with the opening meeting of the Deputy Director General for Water Management Dr. Yakup KARAASLAN. After Mr. KARAASLAN, Team Leader Mr. Jaroslav SLOBODNIK delivered his presentation on the progress of the project, Activity 8 - Case Study on Environmental and Health Impacts of the Implementation of Environmental Quality Standards, data collections process and stakeholder consultation meetings held in Doğu Akdeniz, Marmara, Kızılırmak and Doğu Karadeniz. As per the request of Ms. ELÇİN it has been decided to hold the Operation Coordination Unit Meetings in hybrid format.

The meeting was adjourned with a question and answer session following the discussions on the meeting to be held in Batı Karadeniz Basin and project experts.
